I wasn't feeling too well on Sunday, and I left one very important person out of my "victory speech" at the awards ceremony at City Sounds. I apologize for that.
Kevin Gong, my holder and teammate, deserves some props from me. Frankly, if it weren't for him bugging me this spring, and agreeing to split expenses with me, I probably wouldn't have even raced this season. And, on the final Sunday at PDC, when I woke up with my throat swollen shut, he's the guy that drove - while I slept in the back of the truck - and got me warm saltwater to gargle, eggs, and coffee - and told me to stop whining. I knew I had to at least show up on Sunday to take the points championship, and I would have forced myself to do that no matter what, but winning that final race was the last thing on my mind Sunday morning. There's no doubt in my mind that without Kev pushing me and helping me out on Sunday, I'd have never won that moto. So, I have to truly thank him for helping me end the season on the highest and most unexpected note possible!!
