I have a Polaris 785pro that will not start. I am looking for someone who is familiar with the Polaris watercraft and can help me diagnose and fix the ski. The motor cranks over and pops and sputters but will not start. I had the carbs rebuilt but that did not help. It maybe that the timing is off but I am not sure what to look for.

I have spark but I don’t have a compression tester to test the compression. It is a fresh engine with about 20 hours on it. I was talking with a friend from region 3 he thinks that the timing may be off.

I am not sure what the procedure is to check that. Somebody else on here might know how though. You planning on racing this season?

Before I moved hear, I raced in region 3 800-novice stock class. I look forward to racing next season.

You might want to check the coil it might be bad. Or for a small fee you could take it to a dealer and they should be able to tell you what is wrong.
If you plan on racing next year you should look into racing in the 1200 class you would have alot more people to race and would have more fun. I think only one guy raced in the 800 stock class last year. But who knows maybe more people will show up with 800s but I would not cross my fingers.

There were times they raced the 800 and the 1200 stock classes in the same mottos and I was able to hold my own against most of the 1200 racers. If I need to I would race in the 1200 class.

Odds are that Scott will throw you in with the 1200s so you will have someone to race with. And yes you should do fine running with the 1200s. I just thought you might like to know what most of us race up here.

P.S Do not forget to check that coil
