I would like to thank all the racers that have come to the first half of the tour. I hope that we have been able to give you good race sites and challening courses.
As we go into the second half of the tour(5 races in the month of August) keep in mind that this will be the only remainging region 6 competition.
I hope that the other racers in Region 6 can come to know your good sportsmanship and excellent racing etiquette. It's good to see Racers help other Racers so willingly. Good job to all of you who have race with the Great Lakes Watercross Tour... You are a remarkable group of people.
Michigan, Indiana, Illinois Racers...without your participation, we would not truly have an indication of the skill level of all of Region 6 Competitors. With the amount of points available in all of the national classes in the next five races, I would hope that some of you would come out to reperesent your states. Think Nationals High Points Champion.
The Lake Andrea Race Site in Pleasant Prairie, WI, would be a beautiful National Tour stop. This is a centrally located race site for all of region 6, located right on the Wisconsin, Illinois border, just north of Chicago.
Just two weeks later, our Sheboygan Race, on the shores of Lake Michigan, is on the exact spot of the best fresh water surfing in the world. With the right prevailing winds, we could have six to eight foot surfing swells with the shapes that remind me of Southern California (trussels).
With beautiful sand beaches, parking just 50 yards from the water, and the local ATV club hauling you and your equipment to and from the lake edge, Sheboygan should be an excellent race site.
In the five rounds, there's a possibility that you could go home with 300 National High Points in 3 weekends. Not to mention, all of the handle-bar to handle-bar racing just before the Nationals.
I'd like to give a personal invitation to all of the Racers in Indy and all of the Racers in Michaigan...come over and give it a shot.[8D]
