APBA Regional Champion Plaques - 07/23/06 - The APBA has just mailed the APBA Regional Champion plaques that will be awarded to the #1 rider in each region in the 30 recognized APBA regional classes. Regional Championships include points from all events earned in a region up until October 31, 2006. The plaques have been sent to promoter that has the last race in the region and will be awarded then. Just another way for the APBA to support its members. Congratulations 2006 Regional Champions!

This means that the plaques have been mailed to Scott... And they will be awarded at The Lure on August 26th.

Are you saying that riders that race other region 6
events will have to come to the Lure if they are 1st
in their class. Or that the leaders for each promoter
in each region will get plaques.

I believe My 1st is correct but just making sure.

It will be nice to get more racers here to at least visit

Nope,

The plates will go to the racer with the highest points in each class for the region. If someone has enough points so they don't have to show up at The Lure so be it. They will still get the #1 plate. Basically the best way to get the highest points is to attend all of the races in region 6 (the entire region 6). The reason that the plates are coming to the Great Lakes Tour is that Scott (the promoter) is having the final round for the region, so there this is the most logical place to send them. If someone doesn't arrive to get his / her plate they can have them sent to their home (once the postage has been paid)

There is a lot of opportunity for people to get points on the great lakes tour in august, so if you are in the running and want a plate, it is best to show up and race...

There are also going to be titles handed out by the promoters for those who win the points for each promoter, this is up to each promoter for what they hand out (if anything)

So there is a difference: The APBA handles the overalls for each region. The promoters handle the points championships for their tour.
