Who's going to Havasu this September?
The dates are sept 30th - Oct 8th
It is at the Crazy Horse again this season... It looks to be a good one. The 25th year there!

We emailed Fraizer about freestyle qualifying and shooting video there, but the IJSBA may not want the exposure or extra entrees as they have yet to get back with us. Not like one should be arranging time off work and hotels right about now or anything...

Ain't that the truth. But it is par for the course, they just locked down the location a week ago. You would think that the rate things are happening the 2006 WF should be happening around this time next season.... I'm going regardless, it is a great time and I have more fun hanging out and running buoys with everyone in the weeks leading up to the event than I do racing.

Yeah next year at this time and I thimk everyone would actually be ready. I go back and forth. Its a ton of fun and I love going out there. Heck its the only real vacation I take all year. But if I go all the way out there, with the $$ of gas, I want to compete! Ya know man.

How are they qualifiying people for the WF's these days? Is there an allocation per region?

So, Who is in for Havasu.
At this point I am still planning on making the trip since that has been my plan for the entire season.
I am looking to see who else is committed to going. My origional plans have fallen through due to some people changing minds. It is best to get a couple people together and share the expenses especially now that gas costs are so high. Anyhow let me know if anyone else has plans on attending.

Josh, When are you planning on heading down and how long are you planning on being there?

Right now I have no idea. My origial plan was to be in Havasu on the 20th or 21st of september and then leave on the 8th of october. That was my initial plan though which probably will not happen unless I end up staying with a local. So now I am just gathering information on who is going to be attending.
Ideally it would be best to get a group of people together and rent a house. This option offers a garage for both wrenching on skis and storing them at night. If done right it is also the least expensive, when there is a group staying for more than a few days.
Havasu is going to be very busy this year because there is a "Rockfest" going on at the same time as the races are happening so a house might be the only way to go...
I am going to contact some of the other racers I know in other regions to see if they have room also.
So to answer your question... I am not sure how long I am staying for. I would atleast like to be there from September 24th - October 8th. But we'll see...

I'd be up for renting a house. I'm planning on going for sure but I won't able to stay that long since I'm running low on vacation time. If I can find a ski to rent for Novice ski stock, I'll be there for the first half of the finals to race. If not, I'll be there for the second half as a spectator and to give people a hand. Either way, I'll need a place to stay. One of my buddies in CA who is not a racer is planning on meeting me up there too and he'll need a place to stay. Hopefully that will help ease the cost.
