So, now that it looks like we're "for sure" IJSBA and not APBA anymore, what's this mean to everyone? Any changes, small or large for anyone? Anything "need" to change now that maybe we get more "say-so" as independents? Anyone adjusting their race schedule or travel plans from what they were before? Any concrete news on IJSBA 'highpoints' or something similar? As for skis, I've heard rumors where AJ is going by APBA rules for some classes and IJSBA for others - any comments on that or what we're gonna do, or should do? I realize Scott probably needs to decide some of this yet, but maybe we should be talking about some of this now instead of May 30th[:p]...

The ijsba started all jet ski racing.... i raced with ijba in the early 90's...i know it sounds like we are going a diffent direction but we are going with the org. ..things are so difrent now..we need to get everyone on the same page, we want to race and have a good time, screw the politics of it all.i know we would like to go for high points??? etc??? but if it is between racing and not racing what do you want???? scott is doing the right thing for us. it will be good in the long run,i hope...all i know is,there where alot more people racing then, somthing happened,i dont know what...it was way before gas prices.... teh cool thing is i raed against scott fraiser when he was a nov ski rider in region 2 cal. i have pictures... its a good thing we are the start of a new racing program...beeocha

Anybody else, like me, who hasn't bought their APBA membership yet for this year?
I'm certainly fired up about the GLW races (boo yah, mmmm, deeelish and all that), but I'm a little lukabeoootchawarm on nat'ls at this point. If I don't wind up doing any region 6 races this year, that means nat'ls will cost me $210 ($140 + $70 membership) just to go down there and run 2 motos - and I'm not rich like joe and craig :) - now, if I could get my 21 year-old daughter to start paying rent, but that's another topic for a different day. Plus, after reading all of chopper's posts on pwctoday about what a sucky site nashville shores is, it seems to be a very "missable" event for many reasons. Now, if pat/apba were to allow the $$ spent on race numbers to go towards membership, that would help (a little), but (more importantly IMHO) it would be a gesture of good faith towards the racers in non-apba regions like us. We'll see I guess, but I'm not holding my breath, and I'm not gonna beg, that's for sure...
Comments welcome.

Why pin the nashville site issues on me?
The truth is that there is no room for racers let alone fans. The logistics of camping / pits / beach is horrible and on top of that they charge parking to kids that are not even old enough to drive... Not to mention who actually uses the waterpark passes.
There has to be a better place, but no one at the APBA is willing to admit that or look further.
Ah who cares anyhow. The fact of the matter is that racing is better than not racing...
Maybe I'll look at my skis in the next couple weeks... [?]

Not pinning anything on you, Josh. Just sayin' your opinions make sense and got me thinking more.
I had a good time at nat'ls last year, but for what I want out of racing it may be one of those things I just needed to do to say I did it once - or may just do it every few years. The sucky-ness of the site is undeniable, and I'm immensely grateful to craig for letting me tag-along on-the-cheap last year. With a fixed racing budget, I have to think it through: Do I want to spend $$ to do nat'ls again, or spend about the same $$ to do 3 GLW races instead? Gotta get the best bang for the buck ya know...
I'm liking the idea of west va more and more, especially if we go as a group. Doubtful that I'd do west va AND nat'ls.
No worries, joe. I'm a stubborn pollack, not a white-knuckled grudge holder ;).

Will we be qualified to race the apba nat's. I thought you have to have atleast one apba sanctioned event under youre belt for that year?
If money permits I hopefully would be able to go to ijsba + apba nationals but if I had to choose one, probably ijsba.
So many choices so little money!!!

patrick mel will more than happy to take your money and let you race... it is not an issue...i also think that as long as you race a ijsba sanctioned event you are ok also... the world finals is a little diffrent,at least it used to be.. i think now with racing so low that you could also race there without a problem...long story short figure out what you want to race and dont worry about qualifing.. you will be able to go if you want...
